Dating someone that does background checks.

I met a men at a local coffee shop. After a few chance meetings, he asked me if I would like to go out on a date. He seemed like a very nice man, and I graciously accepted. We made arrangements to meet that Friday night at a restaurant. Our plan was to have dinner and see a movie. At dinner, he made an announcement that shocked me. He stated that he did background checks. I thought, at first, that he was telling me a little about his profession. I assumed the words he would utter next would be something along the lines of working for a government agency. Instead, he meant that he does background checks on the women that he dates. I know that, in this day and age, you can never be too careful. But I thought this was going overboard. I may be old fashioned, but I still believe that relationships are based on trust and honesty. Needless to say, I paid my share of the check and skipped the movie. I didn’t want to take a raincheck for fear he may want to do a credit check on me too!
